Bulgaria’s Parliament has ratified amendments to the Framework Agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Lockheed Martin Global that will allow the state-owned company Avionams to repair generators for F-16 Block 70 fighter jets in Bulgaria. The amendments were approved by 159 MPs.
The agreement makes clear that the facility will service not only Bulgaria’s F-16s, but also aircraft operated by neighbouring countries that lack such repair capabilities. Only Vazrazhdane voted against the amendments.
The government expects the project to bring high added value to Bulgaria, as Poland is currently the only other EU country with this type of repair capability.
