Natural gas prices in Bulgaria rise by 6% from today to €44.09 per megawatt-hour, excluding fees and charges. The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission rejected Bulgargaz’s request for a further increase of around 1%.
The regulator decided against a steeper rise because of an unfavourable outlook for gas prices this winter. It also pointed to the impact on household bills, as natural gas accounts for more than 70% of the cost of district heating and hot water, BNR reporter Yuliana Kornazheva said.
