Following the strong interest and positive response to the initiative of the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences — “120 Years – 120 Minutes at the National Ethnographic Museum” — the initiative has been extended for a third month, through October. The exhibition halls of the National Ethnographic Museum will continue to offer free admission every Saturday and Sunday in October 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The National Ethnographic Museum was founded in 1892. It is housed in the former Royal Palace in the heart of Sofia and, over the decades, has built up the country’s most representative ethnographic collection.

The museum offers a unique atmosphere and gives visitors the opportunity to discover the traditions, customs, and everyday life of Bulgarians from different periods and regions, as well as to explore the treasures of Bulgarian ethnography.
