Ambassador Roderick Moore is the new president and chief executive officer of the America for Bulgaria Foundation, BGNES reports. He took over as head of the Foundation on 1 October 2026. Prior to his appointment, Roderick Moore served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Moore succeeds Nancy Schiller, who is retiring after more than 10 years as the Foundation’s president and 15 years as a member of its Board of Directors. Following her retirement, Ms. Schiller will remain a member of the Board. Moore was selected through a recruitment process in the United States led by the Board of Directors.

“I am returning to Bulgaria for the fourth time, and I feel as though I am coming home. I have a deep affection for the country and look forward to working with the Foundation’s team to continue finding meaningful ways to contribute to Bulgaria’s prosperity,” said Moore, a career diplomat with the US Department of State.

The mission and working approach of the Foundation, which primarily supports cultural projects connecting the United States and Bulgaria, remain unchanged, the press office of the US non-profit charitable foundation said.
