If Bulgaria’s presidential election were held in early October, 46.9% of voters would back Iliana Iotova and Kiril Valchev, compared with 25.3% for Andrey Gyurov and Georgi Kandev, according to a survey by polling agency Myara.

Kostadin Kostadinov and Petar Volgin would receive 8.8%, followed by Ivelin Mihaylov and Yuliana Mateeva with 4.2%, Ivan Hristanov and Stoyanka Cherkezova with 2.7%, and Radostin Vasilev and Krasimir Manov with 2.2%.

Other candidates would receive around 1% or less, while 2.3% of respondents would choose the option “I support no one”.

Expected voter turnout stands at 35.4%, based on respondents’ stated intentions, the agency said.

The independent survey was conducted between September 26 and October 4 through face-to-face interviews and an online questionnaire among 1,000 Bulgarian adults. It has a maximum margin of sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points for a 50% share. One percentage point of the total sample, rather than of those intending to vote, represents approximately 53,000 people.
