Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing for outbound trucks heading to Türkiye, the Border Police reported. Traffic is normal at the country’s other border crossings and checkpoints with Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia and Romania.

On October 6, drivers should expect traffic restrictions on the Hemus Motorway near Varna and Shumen, as well as between the Boaza and Dermantsi interchanges. On the Trakia Motorway, road markings are being applied at several locations, and the speed limit has been reduced to 80 km/h. Road shoulders are being cleaned on the Struma and Maritsa motorways, and the emergency lane is closed in some sections.

Two people have died and 24 have been injured in 24 serious road accidents across the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the month, there have been 110 serious road accidents, resulting in 11 fatalities and 124 injuries. Since the beginning of the year, 380 people have lost their lives in 5,274 serious road accidents.
