Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Tom Berendsen during her official visit to The Hague. The two discussed opportunities to deepen political dialogue and expand cooperation in the areas of the economy, energy, transport, security and defense. They also discussed opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence, including between scientific organizations and businesses in the two countries.
The talks also focused on the war in Ukraine, security in the Black Sea region, strengthening European defense preparedness, protecting the EU’s external borders, and EU enlargement.
In the Hague Minister Petrova announced an initiative that will give Bulgarian students the opportunity to undertake internships at Bulgarian embassies in European countries. The initiative envisages Bulgarian students working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while they are still studying, Minister Petrova told the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA). The initiative will first be implemented in the countries with the largest number of Bulgarian students: Austria, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
