Bulgarian football great Hristo Stoichkov takes to a different kind of stage tonight as he presents Stoitchkov The Show at Arena 8888 Sofia, looking back on the first 60 years of his life in his own words.

Created to mark Stoichkov’s 60th birthday, the multimedia production brings together sport, theatre, music, technology and talk-show elements. The story unfolds in six scenes, each with its own visual setting and atmosphere. They take the audience from Stoichkov’s early years on the athletics track in Plovdiv and his first steps in sport to the heights of world football, the decisions and victories that shaped his career, and his role today as a mentor and source of inspiration.

Stoichkov will be joined on stage by friends, who will share previously untold stories and memories from his life and career.

The audience will also have a chance to take part in the show. People registered on the event website can submit questions to Stoichkov, who will answer a selection of them during the evening.

The show is aimed both at fans who remember Bulgaria’s historic run at the 1994 World Cup in the United States and at younger audiences discovering Stoichkov’s story for the first time.
