Plamen Bonev’s “I Am Human” - Love without masks or superpowers

At the end of a busy summer, Plamen Bonev (De La Bona) presents his new original song “Az sam chovek” (I Am Human). Although the track is only coming out now, the rock singer has been working on the idea behind both the lyrics and music for quite some time. Only recently, however, did the time come for a completely new arrangement, created by Angel Dyulgerov. In “I Am Human”, De La Bona brings together the two sides of his musical style — the more ballad-driven side and a harder-edged sound:

“The melody itself is still ballad-like, and the vocal lines have that ballad feel. As I’ve said before, trends change - musical tastes are constantly evolving. Beats change, sounds change, all kinds of plugins... But the one thing that remains constant is the melody. That doesn’t change: either it touches your soul, or it doesn’t.”

The video for “I Am Human” was created using artificial intelligence - something that, on the one hand, contrasts with the song’s title, but on the other, reinforces its central message: “I can’t be Superman — I’m just a human being.”

“The human factor cannot be replaced”, Plamen Bonev adds. “I listen to a lot of music, and you can always tell when something has been made by artificial intelligence. Music is an art form; it has to be lived and experienced, and we must not lose the human factor in creating it.”
