10th-century manuscripts on display in Sofia ahead of Archivists’ Day

Manuscripts dating from the 10th century and written on parchment will be presented on 9 October from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Central Foyer of the National Library “Sts. Cyril and Methodius” in Sofia, on the eve of Archivists’ Day, the cultural institution announced.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see two fragments of a Greek Gospel lectionary dating from the second half of the 10th century, as well as an Armenian Four Gospels manuscript from 966. The temporary exhibition is dedicated to the work of archivists and manuscript researchers, and to the process through which individual traces in a document can reveal its history.
