Introductory seminar for newly arrived foreign diplomats opens in Sofia

Diplomats from 18 countries took part in the first module of the sixth edition of an introductory seminar for newly arrived foreign diplomats in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The seminar was opened by Diplomatic Institute Director Tanya Mihaylova and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivanka Tasheva. They welcomed diplomats who had taken up their posts in Bulgaria over the past year and emphasized the key role of personal contact in diplomacy.

Ivanka Tasheva outlined Bulgaria’s current foreign policy priorities, including regional connectivity, peace and security, economic diplomacy, and support for multilateral cooperation. The first module focused on the history of the modern Bulgarian state and its foreign policy.
The upcoming modules will focus on the economy, investment and tourism, science and technology, the media and civil society, as well as Bulgarian culture and traditions.
