North Macedonia: No record of Iva Mihaylova leaving the country

According to North Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior, there is no record of Iva Mihaylova leaving the country. This was established through a check of the border control system, North Macedonia's media report, citing the ministry’s response to an inquiry from the Fokus news outlet, BTA reported.

Earlier this morning, it emerged that Mihaylova had arrived in Bulgaria and was receiving treatment at Pirogov Hospital. She said she had crossed the border using her personal identification documents. Bulgaria’s Interior Minister, Ivan Demerdzhiev, confirmed that she had been admitted to Pirogov and stated that an investigation would be conducted. He added that security protection would be provided if necessary.

Speaking to Bulgarian National Radio (BNR), Iva Mihaylova’s lawyer, Naser Raufi, said he had not been informed of her decision to return to Bulgaria but considered it justified given her serious medical condition.
