Çağatay Ulusoy was born in Istanbul on September 23, 1990. In 2010, he won the Best Model of Turkey competition. He went on to study at Istanbul University and take acting lessons, eventually becoming one of the most recognisable faces in Turkish television dramas.
Çağatay Ulusoy's ties to Bulgaria come through his father, Aylin Ulusoy. In the 1970s, his family emigrated to Turkey and settled in Istanbul.
The actor has never hidden his roots and has spoken of them with pride. In a 2015 interview with the Turkish edition of Elle magazine, he said: “My father is an emigrant from Bulgaria, while my mother, Refie, is Bosnian. We are a large, close-knit family with very strong family ties. My parents did their best to raise me to be a conscientious person.”
