Rain and a chilly wind on Friday, slightly warmer on Saturday

Friday brings more rain, with cloudy skies over much of Bulgaria. Temperatures will start at 3 to 8°C, around 3°C in Sofia. A light to moderate wind from the north will bring colder air, so even in the afternoon, temperatures will reach just 10 to 15°C. Sofia can expect a high of around 10°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be mostly cloudy, with rain mainly in the south. Northerly winds will be moderate to strong, and highs will range from 14 to 16°C. The sea temperature is 19°C, with a sea state of 2 to 3.

There is snow in the forecast for the mountains, with rain below 1,300 metres. Cloudy skies and a moderate to strong north-northeasterly wind will make for a cold day. Temperatures will reach around 6°C at 1,200 metres and minus 1°C at 2,000 metres.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the morning will still be chilly, with temperatures between 2 and 7°C. Later, they will rise to between 12 and 17°C. There will be some breaks in the cloud, although skies will often remain overcast, and rain will linger in places, mainly in eastern Bulgaria. A moderate northwesterly wind will become strong at times across the Danube Plain.
