Bulgarian myths and folk tales to be brought to life in English in Sofia show

What happens when a young woman marries a dragon, and is it possible to catch a dream? The answers will unfold at "Beyond Nine Forests: Tales of Hidden Bulgaria", a storytelling performance on 20 October at 6.30pm at the National Ethnographic Museum in Sofia (6A Moskovska Street).

Half-Bulgarian storyteller Moni Georgieva Sheehan and musician Ivor Davies, from the British-Bulgarian storytelling company A Spell In Time, will present Bulgarian myths and folk tales through storytelling, music and humour. The audience will also be introduced to Georgieva Sheehan’s book of the same name.

The event is part of a seminar organised by the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The performance will be in English and is intended for audiences aged 14 and over.
