A Sofia court has approved the issuing of European arrest warrants for two 19-year-old German nationals accused in absentia of setting fire to several Starlink antennas near the Bulgarian capital on 9 October, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reporter Silvia Velikova reported.

The Sofia City Court approved the prosecution's request for warrants for Zeka Islam and Tirpan Beytulla.

The two men spent only a few hours in Bulgaria and said they were visiting for tourism when they entered the country.

Evidence in the case includes photographs, records tracking their German-registered vehicle, witness statements and an expert assessment of the damaged Starlink antennas near the village of Plana, outside Sofia.

The assessment found that three antennas had been completely destroyed by fire, two had been partially burned and three others had sustained fire damage.
