Heavy traffic for outbound trucks at Bulgaria–Türkiye border crossings

Traffic is heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo and Lesovo border checkpoints for outbound trucks heading to Türkiye, the Border Police reported.

Traffic is flowing normally at the country’s other border checkpoints and crossings with Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia and Romania. The only exception is the Ruse–Giurgiu Danube Bridge between Bulgaria and Romania, where traffic is restricted to one lane due to scheduled repairs to drainage facilities.

One person has died and 26 have been injured in 22 serious road traffic accidents across the country in the past 24 hours, Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the month, 35 people have died and 53 have been injured in 436 road accidents.
