Voter turnout in the Presidentia Election across Bulgaria stood at 5.8% as of 12 p.m., with a total of 385,092 people having cast their ballots, Central Election Commission spokesperson Stoyanka Balova announced at a briefing. The highest turnout was recorded in Vidin Region, at 8.12%, while the lowest was in Kardzhali Region, at 2.56%.

The CEC has received 13 reports of violations so far, four of which concern the voting process. Seven people refused to cast their ballots using voting machines and requested paper ballots instead, although this is not permitted at polling stations with more than 300 voters. Three other reports concern election campaigning and opinion polls.

As of 12 p.m., 20 voting machines across the country had been taken out of service due to various technical problems, with paper ballots being used instead. The highest number of faulty machines, five, was reported in Sofia’s 23rd electoral district.
