Film about Christo brings Bulgarians and celebrities together in Los Angeles

The documentary Christo in Japan: Images was screened at the Bulgarian Consulate General in Los Angeles on 25 October. Journalist Georgi Toshev, who made the film with Ema Konstantinova, shared personal memories of his meetings with the world-renowned Bulgarian artist Christo, born Hristo Yavashev.

Filmed in Japan after the death of Christo's wife and artistic partner Jeanne-Claude, the documentary reveals a lesser-known side of the artist, exploring his views on freedom and the story of their creative partnership.

Among the guests were Don Davis, who composed the music for The Matrix trilogy; producer Carla Gordy Bristol, a member of the family behind the Motown record label; and Patricia Ward Kelly, wife and biographer of Hollywood star Gene Kelly, the Bulgarian Consulate General said.
