Maestro Nayden Todorov will conduct the operatic segment of the final concert of Operalia in Shanghai. The Bulgarian conductor has received a personal invitation from Plácido Domingo, founder of one of the world’s most prestigious music competitions, the Sofia Philharmonic announced.
The event will take place on November 1 at the Shangyin Opera House, which is hosting this year’s international competition for young opera singers. The final concert will be broadcast on Mezzo, one of the leading international television channels dedicated to classical music and opera.
Plácido Domingo personally invited the Bulgarian conductor following Todorov’s highly successful appearance at Operalia in Sofia in 2025, said the Sofia Philharmonic. As they did Sofia, the two maestros will share the conducting duties at the final concert.
