The Bulgarian government has approved the country's participation in an international initiative to develop air defence capabilities against low-flying aerial threats. The cooperation is expected to help develop and deploy more effective defences against drones.
The government also approved Bulgaria's participation in an agreement between France and Denmark for the joint procurement of surface-to-air missiles for the Bulgarian Navy.
The project will be financed through the EU's SAFE defence funding instrument and involves the delivery of 32 missiles for the air defence systems aboard the Navy's multipurpose patrol vessels.
