The musicians of “100 Hungarian Gypsy Violins”, who will perform two concerts in Bulgaria on 30 October at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, promise audiences a spectacular two-hour musical experience featuring classical masterpieces, fiery csárdás and virtuosic solos.

The group officially known as the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra boasts a repertoire including works by composers such as Liszt, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Strauss, alongside traditional Hungarian music. The programme will also feature impressive solo performances, showcasing the individual musicians’ virtuosity against the orchestra’s powerful violin sound.

The performances are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The second concert was added in response to strong public demand for the performance by the legendary Hungarian ensemble, the BGNES news agency reported.

The ensemble is distinguished by its blend of classical tradition with the temperament and freedom of Hungarian musical culture. Another hallmark is that the musicians perform without sheet music, relying on their ear and bringing characteristic emotion and stage energy to their playing.
