Bulgaria launches new real-time road traffic information platform

Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Shishkov has unveiled a new online platform providing up-to-date traffic information on Bulgaria's national road network, BTA reports. The service will go live at 7 pm today, 29 October, at traffic.api.bg.

The platform will provide real-time information on roadworks, traffic congestion, restrictions, weather conditions and average speeds on key road sections. Shishkov said the inclusion of urban roads in the system would be considered at a later stage.

The platform complies with the EU directive on intelligent transport systems.
