Nikola Tsolov to take part in F1 practice session in Mexico today

Bulgaria’s Nikola Tsolov will make his Formula 1 debut today in the first practice session for the Mexico City Grand Prix, driving Liam Lawson's car for Racing Bulls. "Following my first test with the team at Imola in August, I'm excited to take this next step, build on that experience and learn more about the car and the current regulations", he said.

Team principal Alan Permane encouraged Tsolov ahead of his debut: "Nikola's participation in the first practice session is an important step in his development within the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme."

The Bulgarian driver has already completed a successful one-day test at Imola in a 2025 Racing Bulls car, recording 143 trouble-free laps. With two rounds remaining in the Formula 2 season, Nikola Tsolov remains in the title race, trailing championship leader Rafael Câmara by 7 points.
