Voting in the second round of Bulgaria’s presidential and vice-presidential election began smoothly across Europe at 6:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The last polling stations to open, at 9:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, were those in the United Kingdom, Iceland, Ireland and Portugal, as well as on the Canary Islands.
The largest number of polling stations have been set up in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (82), followed by Türkiye (78), Germany (70) and Spain (67). Information about their locations is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, under the section “Elections for President and Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria – 25 October 2026”: https://www.mfa.bg/bg/izbori-2026 .
Bulgarian citizens can also vote in countries where Bulgaria has no diplomatic or consular missions, including Iceland, Malta and Luxembourg.
