Seventy-one percent of Bulgarians support the recent anti-government protests, according to a survey by the sociological agency Myara, conducted face-to-face using tablets between November 27 and December 3 among 803 adult citizens.
Thousands of people filled the area in front of the Presidency, the National Assembly, and the Council of Ministers on Monday, protesting against the draft state budget for 2026 on December 1. Demonstrations were held in many cities across the country.
According to the research, 21.4% of respondents oppose the protests, while another 7.3% have no position.
A total of 49.8% of those surveyed demand the resignation of the government, 32.6% do not support such a move, while 17.6% remain undecided.
Early elections are preferred by 48%, 35.8% are against holding them, and 16.2% have no opinion.
Support for the protests is widespread among voters of various opposition parties, as well as among non-voters, while in stark contrast stand the electorates of the parties in the governing coalition, the survey cited by BTA shows.
