Students hold a protest against the government

Students from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) staged a protest against the government. They blocked Rakovski Street in Sofia, where NATFA is located.

“We want to support the large protest today, which calls for the government’s resignation and for the return of the budget, which, even after being revised, still isn’t good”, Emanuil Tsonev, a film and television directing student, told BNR. Later, the students will join the march to the Largo for the major protest announced by We Continue The Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP–DB) for 6:00 p.m., reported journalist Svetoslava Kuzmanova.

Due to the protest, there is a heightened police presence around the National Assembly. The Sofia Police assured that anyone suspected of planning acts of vandalism would be removed from the protest.
