Bulgaria is in constant contact with the Greek authorities over the blockade of border crossings, caused by farmers' protests, said the director of the Border Police, Anton Zlatanov, BNR reporter Nikolay Hristov informed.

"We receive the information they have in a timely manner, so that we can organize the movement on our territory, but Greece is a sovereign state, albeit a Schengen member," the chief commissioner said.

Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov and Anton Zlatanov inspected the operation of the system for citizens outside the European Union at the Kalotina border checkpoint, the implementation of which began last year.

The director of the Border Police explained that citizens outside the European Union are subject to registration, and fingerprints and other biometric data will be taken upon their first entry into the Schengen area.
