Bulgaria's Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov is leading the Bulgarian delegation taking part in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The delegation also includes Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. The focus of the discussions is on the global economic and geopolitical environment and security issues.
In this context, Foreign Minister Georgiev expressed bewilderment regarding a press release circulated by the office of the head of state, announcing that President Rumen Radev had received an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join his peace initiative.
Rumen Radev invited by Trump to represent Bulgaria in new Peace Council
“The invitation was officially sent on Sunday and received on Monday, and three days later, against the backdrop of already known information about the prime minister’s participation in the Davos forum, the head of state chose to announce its receipt without stating his position on its content. To date, no position has been expressed either on the initiative for peace in Gaza, on the presented 20-point plan, or on other key issues on the current foreign policy agenda,” said Bulgaria’s top diplomat, quoted by the MFA press service.
