The
position expressed by the outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georg
Georgiev, to postpone the ratification by the Bulgarian Parliament of
Bulgaria’s membership in the Board
of Peace
for Gaza of US President Donald Trump for an indefinite period of time is
puzzling and is a very bad signal to our international partners, the
leader of “DPS – New Beginning” Delyan Peevski said in a press
release.
“Today,
with a letter to the outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, we
will raise the question of who is putting pressure on the decisions
of the Bulgarian government... Therefore, if the ratification is not
submitted to the National Assembly by the Council of Ministers, we
will submit a draft resolution to the Parliament, which will oblige
the government to do so,” Peevski said.
Meanwhile,
representatives of the Palestinian community in Bulgaria said that
they were organising a protest in front of the Parliament on January 27
against Sofia’s accession to the Board
of Peace
for Gaza.
