Every day, the colleagues from the "Turkish Language" team of
"Radio Bulgaria" receive well-deserved recognition from
their listeners for their high professionalism. Their role over the
years has been enormous also in upholding the principles of ethnic
and religious tolerance. The broadcast program and the website of "Radio Bulgaria" in Turkish represent a unique media
product, which is of exceptional importance for our Turkish-speaking
compatriots both in Bulgaria and abroad by providing reliable and
timely information about the events and processes in this country. A
special place in Radio Bulgaria's Turkish-language broadcasts is
devoted to the problems of people from small settlements, the
traditions and history of the Turkish community and the bilateral
relations between Bulgaria and neighbouring Türkiye.
In the morning, afternoon and evening, the Radio Bulgaria team in
Turkish presents one-hour broadcasts, in which the audience is
actively involved. The strong "feedback" continues in
off-air correspondence, as the journalists from the team spare no
effort and time to give the necessary attention to each listener who
has turned to the editorial office with a request to congratulate
their relatives on a personal or family holiday, to receive more
information on an exciting topic or has a suggestion for topics and
interlocutors that they would like to hear on the radio.
The listening ratings show a persistent high interest in these
broadcasts - between 65% and 75% of the listeners of BNR-Kardzhali
(one of the platforms for broadcasts in Turkish) express their
preferences precisely for the radio content in Turkish, prepared by
the Radio Bulgaria team.

Six
journalists from the public radio are nominated for an individual
award for outstanding presence in front of the microphone and
contributing to the establishment of the authority of the Bulgarian
National Radio. Among the contenders for this individual award is
journalist in the main editorial office of "Radio Bulgaria", Yoan Kolev, who knows how to discover meaning where others see just
dry facts. His reports and interviews follow compatriots all over the
world - from the Bessarabian Bulgarians in Moldova and Ukraine,
through the cultural life of Bulgarian people in Europe, to the
personal stories of artists, doctors, volunteers. They do not just
bring information, but empathy, attention and respect for the person.
He is one of those journalists who work quietly, consistently and
with heart and this is precisely what leaves a lasting mark,
connecting people, spaces and times.

The
Radio
is a magic created by teams and that is why among the annual awards
of the Bulgarian National Radio there is a special distinction that
emphasizes the symbiosis of professionalism, ideas and implementation
- this is the Award for a radio broadcast, radio project, music
project or multimedia project. This year there are 9 contenders,
among which is the specialized podcast of Radio Bulgaria "Bridge
of Faith" with hosts Darina Grigorova from Radio Bulgaria and
Alexandra Karamihaleva, editor-in-chief of the printed organ of the
Bulgarian Orthodox Church - "Church Gazette".
This
is the "youngest offspring" of Radio Bulgaria - it started
a year ago, but has already managed to reach our compatriots in
Berlin, London, Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Mannheim and The Hague and tell
the story of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church communities in the center
of Europe. The series "Bridge of Faith", created on the
idea of the editor-in-chief of Radio Bulgaria, Krasimir
Martinov, and implemented in partnership with the Western and Central
European Diocese of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, is a unique media
product that, through personal testimonies, interviews and authentic
recordings of church services, makes us join the spiritual life of
Bulgarians abroad.
