Boyko Borissov on the election of caretaker PM: Everything is extravagant

Everything is extravagant at the moment. After these experiments with the Constitution, everything is extravagant. For weeks now we have been seeing how the elections are being delayed. Everything is exotic. This was what GERB leader Boyko Borissov said in an interview with bTV. "The changes to the Constitution also happened with the votes of GERB, but I don't deny my guilt, I accept it and draw conclusions," said Borissov, quoted by BGNES. When asked, he indicated that he has no intention of running for president of Bulgaria.

According to the latest changes to the Constitution, adopted at the end of 2023, the president can choose as acting prime minister from among a narrow circle of individuals - the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Governor or Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, the Chairperson or Deputy Chairperson of the Audit Office, and the Ombudsman or his or her deputy.
