Ludogorets won the Bulgarian Football Supercup for the fifth consecutive time and the ninth overall. Levski Sofia, top of the First League, aimed to claim a trophy in their first official match of the year but were defeated 1–0 at Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia. Ghanaian Bernard Tekpetey scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute, just one minute after coming onto the field.
An important factor in Ludogorets’ success was that the team had already played two official matches in 2026 — in the Europa League against Rangers and Nice. Unfortunately, after the match, Tekpetey was subjected to racist abuse from some Levski fans.
