Bulgaria will participate in the inaugural session of the Board of Peace in Washington on February 19, 2026, at the invitation of President of the United States, Donald Trump. The decision was made at what is likely to be the last meeting of the outgoing government of Rosen Zhelyazkov.

A three-member delegation has been appointed, headed by Ivan Naydenov, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The other members are Konstantin Dimitrov, Director General Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, and Stefka Yovcheva, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Washington.

Bulgaria's delegation will participate as a representative of a state without the right to vote. Bulgaria's participation is in line with the country's consistent position in supporting efforts for lasting peace, security and stability in the Middle East, the government said.

The Charter of the Board of Peace was signed in Davos by outgoing Prime Minister Zhelyazkov, but the document has not been ratified by the parliament.
