Officials at the Ministry of Interior and investigators working in the “Petrohan” case have filed reports alleging pressure from caretaker Minister of Interior Emil Dechev. A report has also been submitted by the party “There Is Such a People” (ITN), and it is being investigated by the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, spokesperson Desislava Petrova told bTV.

The Ministry of Interior announced that Emil Dechev met with the investigators working on the “Petrohan” and “Okolchitsa” cases, assuring them that he would support them and would not replace them.

“We are witnessing the panicked actions of a system that senses its end”, Emil Dechev told BNR. He admitted that he had met a colleague working on the “Petrohan” case at a restaurant outside the ministry. “I have concerns that information could leak anywhere”, Emil Dechev noted, describing ITN’s accusations as a scenario aimed at discrediting him.
