Election volunteers from the UK have called on the president and the ombudsman to refer the matter of changes to the Electoral Code to the Constitutional Court as polling stations in non-EU countries have been limited to 20.

"The disappointment in the Bulgarian community in the UK is extremely deep," they say. "We expect the issue of the limited number of polling stations abroad to go to court," journalist Türkan Ali from London, who is also an election volunteer, told the Bulgarian National Radio.

"We believe in the institutions. It is no coincidence that we have turned to the ombudsman and the president, whom we believe can take the necessary actions. We, as Bulgarian citizens abroad, will continue to seek and defend our rights," Ali said. "We don't want privileges, we don't want anything else but equality," she added.
