Snowboarder Malena Zamfirova is still in a serious condition

Bulgaria's snowboarding star Malena Zamfirova remains in serious condition, acting Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev told BNT after speaking with her father.

The 16-year-old champion was hit by an intoxicated skier on a slope at the Špindlerův Mlýn winter resort in the Czech Republic on 3 March.

“Her fractures are extremely serious,” the minister said. He confirmed that the state would support Zamfirova and her family, adding: “This is not a sports accident. Her father is currently seeking experienced lawyers to take on the case. They intend to pursue legal action and seek justice,” Iliev said.
