Iran’s note to Bulgaria is a normal diplomatic practice during a period of crisis. It is not a threat, but a warning, caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynsky said for Nova TV.
“We have dialogue and intact relations with Tehran. We have repeatedly assured them of the real facts — we are not participating in the war, no combat aircraft are flying over our airspace, and there is no refueling on our territory”, said Minister Neynsky.

In her words, the American aircraft in Bulgaria are part of an agreement for NATO training exercises. We invited the Iranian ambassador to a meeting at the Foreign Ministry for clarification. There is nothing secret, added Minister Nadezhda Neynsky.
She also announced that she will participate in a virtual meeting of 35 countries, excluding the U.S., on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, convened by the United Kingdom. Minister Neynsky emphasized that Bulgaria will not participate in a military coalition to clear the Strait of Hormuz.
