The caretaker government will not engage in party politics but will fight against vote brokers and those seeking to hijack democracy, said caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov at the start of the government meeting.

“Today, I want to start with the number 223. That is the number of people detained for election-related crimes. If you’re wondering whether that’s a lot or a little—that’s the number of members of parliament”, Andrey Gyurov explained, asking: “Who are those trying to enter parliament through the moneylenders?”

The government is legitimate because the citizens’ struggle to exercise their right to vote freely is legitimate, Andrey Gyurov said. According to him, everyone who votes is an ally of the government in the fight against vote-buying. Anyone who inspires others not to be indifferent is also our ally, added the caretaker prime minister.
