Bulgarians in Turkey are voting for a new parliament in significantly fewer polling stations compared to the 168 opened in October 2024, reports Bulgarian National Radio correspondent Maria Petrova. Despite the expected low turnout, queues may still form in areas with compact populations of Bulgarian expatriates.

Heavier voting - with 1,500 to 2,000 voters per polling station - is anticipated in Çorlu and Ergene in the Thrace region, as well as in Bursa and the districts of Avcılar and Esenyurt in Istanbul.

Bulgaria’s Consul General in Istanbul, Vasil Valchev, assured that proper organization has been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the voting process.
