“I voted for a country where people enter Parliament with ideas and policies, not with bundles of cash in their belts,” said the caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov to journalists after casting his vote in the early parliamentary elections in Blagoevgrad.

He added that he voted for a state in which politicians govern with decency and do not become self-important, and where the police work with honour and dignity under the law, and do not walk away when things get tense.

Andrey Gyurov also said he voted for a country where the prosecution investigates citizens’ reports and not “bludgeons” - a European Bulgaria where people stand tall and no one can pressure or humiliate them.

“It is very important for all Bulgarian citizens to go out and vote today, to show that free people and their vote are stronger than any pathetic attempts to manipulate the elections,” the Prime Minister urged.
