“There are no reports of problems with voting abroad, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to organize fair elections,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Radi Naydenov at a briefing at the Foreign Ministry.

He noted that lawmakers have imposed certain restrictions on the number of polling stations abroad. “We have made efforts, wherever conditions in diplomatic missions allow, to open more polling stations in order to facilitate the conduct of the elections,” Naydenov said.

Voting abroad: 493 polling stations in 55 countries

He also stated that there is readiness to extend election day where necessary. According to him, in countries with larger Bulgarian communities such as Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and Germany, it is normal for voter congestion to occur.

Bulgarians in New Zealand are the first to vote, those in USA will be the last

“Let us not scare people with congestion and queues, let us encourage people to vote - that is what matters most,” the Deputy Foreign Minister urged.
