Following heated debates, the 52nd National Assembly voted to approve the cabinet proposed by Rumen Radev and “Progressive Bulgaria” (PB).
First, a prime minister was elected — Rumen Radev from PB. 122 MPs from PB voted in favour of the cabinet lineup. 70 MPs from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), Democratic Bulgaria, We Continue the Change and Vazrazhdane voted against. 36 MPs from GERB–SDS abstained. After the vote, the new ministers were sworn in.
In a survey by the “Myara” agency, 56.8% of respondents said that adopting the state budget is the main priority of the new government. 50.1% expect measures against soaring prices, while 35.4% of respondents want a review of the previous government, BTA reports.
