Premier Radev calls for a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine

“It is high time for diplomacy!”, Premier Rumen Radev said regarding the war in Ukraine at a press conference in Berlin, where he was received by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. According to him, negotiations should begin as soon as possible because this war of attrition is exhausting all participants, as well as all ‘supporting parties.’

The German chancellor replied: “Moscow must understand that is needs to negotiate. Europe is ready to sit at the negotiating table with Ukraine, Russia and the United States. I am pleased, dear Rumen Radev, that Bulgaria will follow this path of European solidarity. The fact that Europe has once again found a sense of unity and determination since the new Hungarian government took office brings us one step closer to peace”, said Friedrich Merz.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev also said that he and Chancellor Merz had discussed attracting and protecting foreign investments.
