Foreign Minister calls Kyiv Declaration issue “A Storm in a Teacup”

Bulgaria has not assumed any commitment to participate in the “Coalition of the Willing” or any other type of formats, Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova-Chamova told journalists in parliament. “Such declarations are not signed; they are adopted at such formats all the time”, she said, commenting on reports that she had signed a declaration in Kyiv.

“Our position remains the same as before — Bulgaria is defending its own interests, and is not standing in the way of its allies and other partners to defend their own interests and participate along whatever lines they choose”, the minister added.

“The focus of the discussion was on ways to support Ukraine at this moment. Different countries can provide assistance in different ways”, said Minister Petrova.
