First US military plane lands at Bezmer Airbase

The first US military tanker aircraft has landed at Bezmer airbase, BTA has reported, quoting the Ministry of Defense. With a decision of the National Assembly, the US will be able to deploy a total of eight such aircraft at the base to support its operations in the Middle East, BNR Horizont recalls. Prime Minister Rumen Radev assured that Bulgaria will not participate in direct operations against Iran and that the US flying tankers will be used for refueling outside Bulgarian airspace.

Last week, residents of the village of Bezmer and nearby settlements protested against the deployment of US aircraft.
