The Education Union of one of the two major trade unions in Bulgaria - the Podkrepa Trade Union - has demanded the introduction of a discipline assessment and easier imposition of sanctions for violations by Bulgarian students. The proposals come after the brutal murder of a 37-year-old man in Plovdiv by a group of 10 young people, some of whom were minors.

The union proposes temporary suspension from class or school for one or several days in case of aggression and restrictions on the use of social networks by students, reporter Andrey Borisov informed. For parents whose children systematically violate school rules, administrative and financial sanctions and volunteer work are proposed. The union defines the incident in Plovdiv as an indicator of the failure not of education, but of the state in forming citizens.
