Hundreds flock to Rila Monastery to mark the Dormition of St. Ivan of Rila

Today, we mark the Dormition of St. Ivan of Rila, the heavenly patron of Bulgaria. Hundreds of worshippers and tourists filled the Rila Monastery to pray before the relics of the saint. The liturgy in the central monastery church was led by Patriarch Daniil, together with bishops, representatives of the Greek Church and Eastern Orthodoxy, correspondent Kiril Falin reported. On the occasion of the 1080th anniversary of the Dormition of St. Ivan of Rila, Patriarch Daniil called on believers to keep the faith and follow the example of the saint through repentance, hope and prayer, BTA notes.
