The minimum wage in 2027 is expected to be EUR 660, BNR has learned from its sources. The amount is yet to be approved by the government.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy has published for public consultation a draft amendment to the Labour Code that would introduce a new mechanism for setting the minimum wage. Under the proposed changes, the minimum wage for each subsequent year would be set by August 15 of the current year, taking into account social and economic criteria. Every three years, an assessment would also be carried out to determine whether the minimum wage remains adequate, BNR reporter Maria Kostova informed.
