Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Ilin Dimitrov and his Chinese counterpart Sun Yeli discussed ways to boost tourism between the two countries at a meeting in Beijing. The talks focused on establishing direct air links, speeding up visa processing for Chinese tourists and creating closer contacts between Bulgarian and Chinese tourism businesses.
“Our aim is to build on the good relations between the two countries and increase tourist travel between them,” Dimitrov said.
The two ministers also discussed plans for a forum bringing together Bulgarian and Chinese tour operators during the Rose Festival in Kazanlak to establish new business contacts and develop joint tourism products. Dimitrov invited Sun Yeli to visit Bulgaria.
“China is one of the world’s largest tourism markets, and Bulgaria needs to be much more visible there,” Dimitrov said.
